Medhufushi which lies to the east of the Meemu-Atoll, 300 km south of Male is 900 meters long and about 90 meters wide. This elongated island is surrounded by dazzling white beaches and greatest care has been taken to develop it with as little disturbance as possible to the environment.

You will find plenty of welcoming shade among the untouched tropical vegetation including palm trees, rubber plants, mangroves, and Scaevola trees. Medhufushi features an exceptionally beautiful lagoon which is ideal for learning to dive. The virtually untouched diving sites, most of them also suitable for beginners, await you with a stunning diversity of corals and tropical fish.

The island hosts a total of 120 single or double air-conditioned bungalows, including water bungalows spaciously situated around the island, giving you plenty of privacy. Each of the bungalows is built to 5 star standards, has its own entrance to the beach and enjoys a beautiful view of the blue lagoon. Surrounded by undisturbed tropical vegetation, it is virtually out of sight to those approaching the island. The rooms are comfortably and elegantly furnished, each with their own terrace. They all feature a mini-bar, telephone, TV, stereo unit, desalinated warm and cold water in the partially open air bathroom which is almost as large as the bedroom!

44 water-bungalows have been built on stilts around the south side of the island. They offer the height in luxury including a sun-deck with stairs leading straight into the lagoon, what more could you wish for?

Medhufushi is mainly a peaceful oasis for relaxing, particularly for divers and those who enjoy water sports with a new and spaciously built Wener Lau diving centre whichhas been designed by professionals to meet the needs of Scuba-divers. The school is generously equipped to the highest standards with a range of modern and well maintained rental gear.

If you want to spend a day doing something else there is a surfing and sailing school on the island, equipped with 'Top Cat' Catamarans and Hy-Fly surf-boards and gear.

Guests can use the modern air-conditioned fitness-centre whenever they wish, or they can choose from one of the other games and sports facilities such as table-tennis, badminton, billiards, volleyball, chess, darts and the local game of carrom among other things.

The restaurant on Medhufushi serves an impressive selection of international and local cuisine. Beach buffets and barbeques including many Maldivian specialties provide further variety to the menu. You may prefer to eat at the beach barbecues and buffets which take place regularly. The coffee shop also offers a selection of food and drink á la carte, so you can choose between half and full board, whichever you prefer.

You could end your day with a cool drink at our beach bar, where you can relax while watching the beautiful sunsets, or you might prefer to enjoy your drink in solitude on the beach, enjoying the cool sea breeze and the starlit skies.
