The Solomon Islands a.k.a. "The Islands Lost in Time" are often described as "the Last Frontier of the Pacific" and Uepi Island in particular.

Uepi Island is a barrier reef island, covered in rainforest, defined by fringing reef and sandy beach; flanked by the warm waters of the longest lagoon in the world on one side, and the oceanic depths of "The Slot", a deep marine abyss, on the other.

Uepi Island Resort, so remote that it may be forgotten by the rest of the world, is situated on one of the barrier reef islands which defines the edge of the magnificent Marovo Lagoon and you will share this unique experience of paradise with only a few other people. Uepi Island is approximately 2.5 km long and up to 600 meters wide, and the whole area, aside from the resort's cultivated tropical gardens, is covered with tropical rainforest interspersed with walking tracks. Guests can participate in a variety of activities or simply relax. The lagoon side of the island has a sandy beach, with clear shallow water suitable for swimming, paddle and sail boarding, and canoeing.

Uepi Resort is the only operation on this remote island. There are no villages on the island. Uepi has an established reputation for world class diving. All dive sites along the Uepi Island passage, barrier reef drop-offs and bays are intensive coral reef eco-systems. The diving is extraordinarily varied with many and differing reef structures and bio assemblages. Sites close to or just off the Island Resort are highly populated with marine life and always exciting, because of the pelagic species which move along Charapoana Passage.

It is common for divers to stay in the water for an hour or so on each dive because the top 5-10 meters have endless species to discover, allowing a diver to get maximum value from each dive. Over a period of time many exciting underwater observations have been made including orca, Pacific sailfish & marlin and at times families of mantas feed in the nearby lagoon. Nautilus can be trapped and after gentle viewing released in good condition. The Nature Conservatory during a quick-scan reconnaissance survey of the Solomon Islands identified over 1400 fish & 450 corals.

There are six spacious, well appointed bungalows for families or couples, two units and two guestrooms. All rooms have private bathroom with ambient temperature showers and toilet facilities. All accommodation is screened and all bedrooms have fans. 24 hour power is provided by way of 240v generator. All rooms are equipped with Australian style power points.

The 26 bed maximum capacity ensures that all guests enjoy privacy and the intimacy of a small group of people. There are 4 beachfront bungalows and 2 timber bungalows set a little way back (approximately 40metres) from the water’s edge in their own garden setting, but with easy access to the beach where you can laze away the day in a hammock.

The resort meals are based around fresh local seafood and organically grown fruits and vegetables, prepared by talented local chefs So you can concentrate on diving and relaxing.
