MY Monsoon is a spectacular 36 meter steel hull motor yacht which brings luxury liveaboards to the remote Northern Atolls of the Maldives. MY Monsoon takes pride of place as the first liveaboard to operate in the northern atolls 80 nautical miles north of male. They have hunted out all the best dive sites in this unexplored region of the Maldives including the now famous Hanivaru lagoon. She is sister ship to Hurricane in the Red Sea, which is voted "Best Liveaboard of the Year" four years in succession by the readers of Diver magazine.
There has been no compromise when it comes to providing comfort for her guests. All cabins are en suite with a small fridge, safety deposit box, TV, DVD and A/C with individual controls. Music and lighting are controlled from the bedside.
The restaurant is situated on the main deck and provides a spacious and tasteful environment to enjoy an excellent variety of local Maldivian and European cuisine. Above the restaurant on the bridge deck is the saloon and bar, a comfortable relaxation area with stereo, CD/DVD and a plasma screen for viewing the day’s digital shots and video footage or taking in a movie. The bar is stocked with wine and a selection of spirits and cocktails.
The cocktail deck provides relaxation in or out of the sun. For the real sun worshipers there are several sun decks where you can find your own place to relax. On the upper deck you will find a heated jacuzzi.
The dive deck is fully equipped to cater for all diving needs, scuba or technical, open circuit or re-breathers, photo or video. Features include: tanks filled in situ; air-drying for cameras; nitrox membrane; mixing panel; and Haskel booster pump. Nitrox, Oxygen, Helium, Inspiration tanks, pony cylinders, sofnolime and 15 litre tanks are available by request and are subject to additional charge. There are two spacious 6m RIBs with centre consoles and a smaller inflatable for use by the crew.
MY Monsoon does not stick to a fixed itinerary, enjoying the best of the Lhaviyani, Raa, Baa and Noonu atolls throughout the year. Over the summer months, Baa atoll is the place to head and witness huge numbers of manta feeding in the plankton filled lagoon of Hanivaru. Other dive areas such as Fushifaru Kandu or the Kuredu Express are on the itinerary where grey reefs dart through the currents and columns of fish. M/Y Monsoon enables you to live the ultimate Maldivian dive adventure knowing you are in expert hands.
Landbased extensions can also be arranged at the end of the trip in case one week just is not enough. |
